This study intends to inspect what interaction of teachers occurs in the play of one-year-old infants attending the child care center. Selecting 3 teachers & 16 one-year-olds, participatory observation was done for free play time from March to Oct., 2009, and depth interview was performed for the class teachers. After collecting & analyzing the diary of participatory observation, interview diary & various documental data, the results like followings could be obtained. (1) giving emotional support by responding to their nonverbal behaviors sensitively & understand and express their needs. (2) understanding infants' unskilled expression & reexpressing it into words properly, (3) activating their general play through continuing & expanding it, and (4) solving conflicts smoothly by explaining them through the most understandable expressions to infants and acquiring their consent, or present alternatives to divert their interest.
