진로장벽 : 이론적 고찰 및 상담 실제에의 적용 = Career barriers: Theoretical considerations and an application to the counseling practice

국문 초록 (Abstract)

진로장벽 연구자들은 최근 사회인지 진로이론(Lent, Brwon, & Hackett, 1994; 2000)에 포함된 진로결정에 영향을 주는 맥락적 요인에 주목하고, 전통적인 진로장벽 개념을 사회인지 진로이론의 틀 안에서 해석하려는 시도를 하고 있다. 그런데 전통적인 진로장벽 개념은 사회인지 진로이론의 개념들 중 자기효능감, 결과기대, 대처효능감, 맥락적 요인 모두와 관련되므로, 진로장벽을 사회인지 진로이론의 맥락적 요인 중 외적 장벽과 동일한 개념으로 사용하는 것은 부적절하다. 사회인지 진로이론에서는 진로장벽의 대처와 관련한 심리내적 요인인 자기효능감, 특정 진로에 진입한 이후 얻게 되는 결과기대, 특정 진로에 진입하는 과정에서 기대하는 사회적인 지지와 외적 장벽을 구분하고, 이 중 진로목표를 이루기 위한 과정에서 경험하는 외적 장벽만을 진로장벽으로 구분한다. 이 연구에서는 전통적인 진로장벽 연구에서의 진로장벽의 개념과 사회인지 진로이론의 관련 개념들과의 차이를 탐색하고, 진로장벽을 과정결과 중 외적 장벽으로 한정할 때 진로장벽이 진로결정에 영향을 미치는 경로에 대한 가정과 이에 대한 경험적인 연구결과들을 요약하였다. 전통적인 진로장벽의 개념을 사회인지 진로이론의 틀 내에서 자기효능감, 대처효능감, 결과기대와 외적 장벽으로 구분하여 사용할 때 이러한 개념적 구분이 진로상담의 실제에서 활용될 수 있는 방안들이 논의되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article describes the concept of career barriers studied in traditional atheoretical career barriers studies, and compares it with career barriers explained in the social cognitive career theory (SCCT, Lent, Brown, & Hackett, 1994; 2000). Particularly, the concept of career barriers in the SCCT is described as compared with the concepts of self-efficacy, outcome expectations, and coping efficacy. The assumptions of the SCCT and the results of the empirical studies are summarized as regards to (a)the effects of career barriers on career goals, and (b)the path through which career barriers influence career goals. Applicable counseling interventions are discussed in applying the results of the empirical studies of career barriers to the counseling practice.
