1920년대 과학소설의 국내 수용양상 연구 -<80만년 후의 사회>와 <인조노동자>를 중심으로- = A study on the process accepting science fiction in the 1920` -focusing on The society after eight hundreds of thousands and Artificial Laborer-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

19세기 말 동양의 여러 국가들은 ``과학만능주의``로 무장한 서구 열강들의 동시다발적인 침략을 대면해야만 했다. 이에 위기의식을 느낀 한국은 영선사와 신사유람단을 파견하여 서구 과학문명을 주체적으로 수용하려 하지만, 그 결과물들이 실제 정책에 적절히 반영되지 않아 별다른 소득을 얻지 못한다. 한국 초기의 과학소설은 이러한 시대적 맥락을 바탕으로 성립되었기 때문에 애국계몽적인 특성이 작품에 구체적으로 나타나 있다. 그러나 1910년 경술국치 이후 출판물에 대한 일제의 검열이 본격화되면서, 과학 소설을 포함한 한국의 문단은 전반적으로 위축될 수밖에 없는 상황을 맞이하였다. 특히 정론성이 강했던 과학소설인 이해조의 <철세계>가 금서로 지정되자, 작가들은 과학소설 창작 및 번역에 있어 새로운 방향으로의 변모를 모색해야만 했다. 1920년대에 들어서자 과학소설은 새로운 국면을 맞이하게 된다. 통속 적인 연애담이 유행하였던 시대적 분위기를 극복한 작품들이 하나 둘 등장하기 시작한 것이다. 특히 김백악의 <80만년 후의 사회>와 박영희의 <인조노동자>는 공통적으로 노동과 관련한 문제를 다루었고, 이 두 작품은 당시 카프(KAPF)의 활동 시기와도 맞물려 있다는 점에서 주목할 필요가 있다. 김백악의 <80만년 후의 사회>는 노동을 통한 문명의 진보를 문학적으로 형상화하여, 진화론적 위기의식을 통해 아직 깨어나지 못한 대중을 개안(開眼)시키고자 하였다. 한편 이 작품에서 나타나는 노동에 대한 문제 의식은 박영희의 <인조노동자>에서 보다 심화되는 양상을 보인다. 특히 박영희는 <인조노동자> 뿐만 아니라 <인조인간에 나타난 여성>이라는 글을 통해 노동 운동에 적합한 자격을 지닌 여성 인물의 표본을 제시하고 있다. 결국 <인조노동자>의 수용으로부터 시작된 사회주의적 방향성은 <인조인간에 나타난 여성>이라는 작품에서 극대화되며, 박영희에 의해 그 구체적인 면모가 드러나게 되는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

At the end of the 19th century, several oriental countries had to encounter simultaneous invasions of western powers armed with ``scientism`` Korea aware of crisis situations because of it intended to accept western scientific civilization subjectively by dispatching ``Youngsunsa`` and ``Sinsayuramdan`` but the results were not reflected to actual policies properly so particular results couldn`t be obtained. The scientific fiction in the early days of Korea was formed by that periodical context so patriotism enlightenment was concretely appeared works. But while Japanese censorship for publications was raging after the Japanese colonial period in 1910, Korean literary circles including science fiction met a situation which had no option but to be daunted generally. Especially, Chul-se-gye of Haejo, Lee, the science fiction which had strong reasonable argument was nominated by the banned book so writers had to seek new direction for creating and translating science fiction. After entering to the 1920s, science fiction also entered upon a new phase. The works overcoming periodical atmosphere popular romantic stories were popular were appeared one by one. Especially, The society after eight hundreds of thousands of Baekak, Kim and Artificial laborer of Younghee, Park treated problems related with labor commonly and it`s necessary to pay attention to those two works because their background is interlinked by KAPF period at that time. The society after eight hundreds of thousands of Baekak, Kim intended to make people who didn`t be awakened yet open their eyes through the sense of evolutionary crisis by forming civilized advance with labor, using the literature. On the other hand, a critical mind for labor, appeared in this work showed the more deepened aspect in Artificial laborer of Younghee, Park. Especially, Younghee, Park is suggesting the example of women who have suitable for a labor movement through not only Artificial laborer but also Women appeared in artificial laborer. In the end, the socialistic directivity started from the acceptance of Artificial laborer was maximized in the work Women appeared in artificial laborer and the concrete aspect was shoed by Younghee, Park.
