관광지 내 시공간 이동 행태와 관광객의 특성 영향 - 강릉지역을 중심으로 - = Intra-Destination Temporal-Spatial Movement Behaviors and the Influence of Tourists’ Characteristics on the Behaviors - Based on Gangneung City -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 관광지의 지속가능성을 달성하는데 있어 관광객의 시·공간적 이동 행태에 대한 이해의 중요성은 더욱 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 관광객의 관광지 내 이동 행태를 시·공간적으로 분석하는 한편 관광객의 특성에 따른 시‧공간적 이동 행태에 있어서의 차이를 고찰할 목적으로 실행되었다. 연구에 필요한 자료는 여행일기를 포함한 자기기입식 설문지를 통해 수집하였으며, 180명으로부터 수집한 자료는 ArcGIS와 STATA를 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 결과로는 첫째, 관광객들은 시·공간적으로 인지도가 높은 관광자원/시설을 중심으로 이동하는 성향을 보였다. 둘째, 관광자원/시설의 특성은 해당 자원/시설에서의 관광객 체류시간에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 관광객 특징 중에서 이용차량 유형과 체류기간이 관광객의 관광지 내 이동 행태에 있어서의 차이를 광범위하게 야기하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과가 가진 이론적·실무적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

In these days, understanding tourists’ temporal-spatial movement behavior is becoming more and more important factor for tourist destination success. The purpose of this study was to investigate tourists’ intra-destination temporal-spatial movement behaviors and differences in the behaviors according to tourists’ characteristics using data obtained by a self-administerd questionnaire containing trip-diary. A total of 180 responses were analyzed with ArcGIS and STATA. Major findings were: first, tourists movement was temporally and spatially centered around some well-recognized attractions/facilities; second, characteristics of attractions determined tourists’ extension of stay at the attractions; third, among tourists’ characteristics, types of transportation used and length of stay influenced tourist intra-destination movement behaviors broadly. Some theoretical and practical implications were discussed.
