19세기후반 여성복식에 나타난 모자에 관한 연구 = A Study on Hats of Western Costume in 19th Century

Nowadays accessories are so significant to make total coordination. The late 19th century is fundamental to get contemporary accessories, which have made in 20th century. The purpose of this study is further methodical study about hats owing to lacks of its archives until now. So, the way of study address to collect all kind of women’s hats in the era through books, internet searches, magazines, etc. First of all, twelve hats in total will be studied and are analyzed the silhouette and design of them each ten year. Eventually in bustle style era, the from 1870 to 1890, women desired to wear dramatic size of hats with ornaments. And in the S-style era, from 1890 to 1910, women started to wear simple and easy-wear hats without ornaments and brims. That means the style of hats in the late 19th century approached contemporary style of hats in the 20th century.
