어린이집 영아반 교사들의 현직교육에 대한 기대 = INFANT/TODDLER CAREGIVERS' EXPECTATIONS FOR IN-SERVICE EDUCATION

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to find out some major expectations of infant/toddler caregivers, and to analyze the differences to the caregivers' expectations for the in-service education according to the educational background and career.
In order to achieve this purpose, the research questions have been set up as follow:
1. How is the present situation of in-service education for infant/toddler caregivers?
2. How are the infant/toddler caregivers' expectations for necessity of in-service education? Is there any significant difference according to the caregever' s educational background and career?
3. How are the infant/toddler caregivers' expectations for the form of in-service education? Is there any significant difference according to the caregever's educational background and career?
4. How are the infant/toddler caregivers' expectations for the contents of in-service education? Is there any significant difference according to the caregiver' s educational background and career?
The subjects for present study were 216 infant/toddler caregivers in Seoul. Infant/toddler caregivers' expectations were accessed through the questionaire. The questionaire which was used in present study was compouned of the questionnaire devised by Robinson(l990) and the questionnaire devised by Peterson(l984). The researcher had modified them for this study and used. The analyzing methods of data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe.
The results of this study could be summarized as follows:
1. Over the half of infant/toddler caregivers had been received in-service education about infant/toddler education. But most of them had participated in in-service programs just one or two times and only a few caregivers had regularly participated in in-service education programs.
2. Infant/toddler caregivers recognized that in-service education program for iInfant/toddler caregivers was much needed. Moreover, many of infant/toddler caregivers felt heartly not only necessity of in-service education but also the shortage of infant/toddler curriculums and educational reference materials.
3. The tendency of infant/toddler caregivers about in- service program's educational forms was as follows:
On the training method, many of infant/toddler caregivers considered workshop or lecture administering in forum style as the most ideal training method. On the training frequency, many of infancy caregivers want to receive in-service education in every vacation. Many of infancy caregivers favorite early childhood education teacher or director as the training provider. And on the auspices agency, many of infancy caregivers want the Administration for Education.
4. There are significant differences in expectations for contents of in-service education program according to caregivers' educational background. In comparison by caregivers' educational background, significant differences were found for all the four concern areas. But there was no significant difference according to caregiver's careers.
