ABSTRACT

Re-education Status and Perception of the Development for professionalism of infant·kindergarten department missionary

The purpose of the study is to identify the present condition and perception of re-education for infant·kindergarten department missionary and Identify the Awareness of the need for re-education, to suggest which direction it should re-education be set on this basis.

The research issues set up for this purpose are as follows.

1) What is the present condition and perception of re-education for
infant·kindergarten department missionary?
2) What is the difference in present condition and perception of re-education
in accordance with the background changes (sex, age, major, career, and
professional scores) of infant·kindergarten department missionary?
3) What are the demands for re-education of infant·kindergarten department
missionary?

In order to achieve the purpose of this study, 103 missionary in charge of the infant, kindergarten or integrated department were participated in the church schools of denomination of the Presbyterian Church and the transcendence-denomination church in located all parts of the country. Research tools used questionnaires based on studies such as Shin Myung-hee (2017) and Kang Mi-ra (2011). The collected survey data were analyzed by conducting frequency analysis, frequency analysis of multiple responses, and χ² analysis using the SPSS 26.0 program.

The results of this study are as follows.

First, 78.6% of the respondents said they have never received any re-education for professionalism of infant·kindergarten department missionary. Through this, it is urgent to develop a re-education program for infant·kindergarten department missionary, and need to organization Curriculum related to infant·kindergarten department missionary in theological graduate school or Graduate school. In particular, the curriculum should be coordinated to ensure that the infant·kindergarten department missionary can be fully prepared in the academic and practical fields While attending theological graduate school, and there should be an institutional mechanism for this.

Second, the reasons for feeling the need for re-education were that 'to develop professionalism' was the highest frequency, followed by 'to understand and apply the development characteristics of infants and kindergarten'. Through this, When developing a re-education program or organizing a curriculum related to university and theological graduate school, graduate school, it should be considered that the infant·kindergarten department missionary working on the field would like to learn the aspects of fostering expertise and understanding the development characteristics of infants and kindergarten, and understanding the trends of the times. Therefore, re-education programs should be prepared focusing on theories on Christian infant education and parts applied to actual sites such as teacher development and communication.

Third, the reason why we feel that re-education is not necessary is that the 'other' responses are 'just not necessary' and the highest frequency. Next came 'Because I ran out of time', 'I don't think I'm a target of education,' etc. In order to promote the need for re-education to infant·kindergarten department missionary, physical and non-physical environments and situations should be provided (Ma il-doo, 2001; Im myoung- Hyuk, 2006) and the name, identity and role of the infant·kindergarten department missionary should be studied.

The limitations of this paper are biased against some denomination missionary, so it is too much to generalize the results of the study. Subsequent studies of various groups are needed in the future.

본 연구의 목적은 유아·유치부 교육전도사를 대상으로 재교육의 실태와 인식이 어떠한지를 파악하여 재교육의 필요성에 대한 인식 파악과 이를 근거로 재교육이 어떠한 방향으로 설정되어야 할지에 대해 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

1) 유아·유치부 교육전도사를 대상으로 재교육의 실태와 인식은 어떠한가?
2) 유아·유치부 교육전도사의 배경변인(성별, 연령, 전공, 경력, 전문성 점수)에
따른 재교육의 실태와 인식 차이는 어떠한가?
3) 유아·유치부 교육전도사의 재교육에 대한 요구도는 어떠한가?

본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 전국에 소재한 장로교 합동 교단과 초교파 교단 교회의 교회학교에서 유아부, 유치부 혹은 통합부서인 유아·유치부를 담당하고 있는 교육전도사 103명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구 도구는 신명희(2017), 강미라(2011) 등의 연구를 기초하여 제작한 설문지를 사용하였으며, 수집된 설문의 자료는 SPSS 26.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석과 다중응답의 빈도분석, χ² 분석을 실시하여 분석하였다.

본 연구를 통하여 나타난 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 유아·유치부 교육전도사를 대상으로 한 재교육을 받아본 적이 ‘없다’는 응답 78.6%를 통해 유아·유치부 교육전도사의 전문성 함양을 위한 재교육 프로그램 개발이 시급하고, 신학대학원, 대학원이나 학부에서 유아·유치부 교육전도사 관련 교육과정 편성이 필요하다. 특히 유아·유치부 교육전도사들이 신학대학원에 재학하는 동안 기독교 교육학 분야를 학문과 실습에서 충분히 준비할 수 있도록 교육과정이 조정되어야 하고, 이를 위한 제도적인 장치가 마련되어야 한다.
둘째, 재교육의 필요성을 느끼는 이유는 ‘전문성 함양을 위해’가 가장 높은 빈도를 보였으며, 그다음 ‘유아의 발달 특성 및 이해와 그에 따른 적용을 위해’ 등의 순으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 재교육 프로그램을 개발하거나 신학대학원, 대학원이나 학부에서 유아·유치부 교육전도사 관련 교육과정을 편성할 시에 현장에서 사역하는 유아·유치부 교육전도사들이 전문성 함양과 유아의 발달 특성 및 이해, 시대의 흐름 파악 및 대처에 대한 부분을 배우고 싶은 것을 고려하여 기독교 유아교육에 관한 이론과 실제 사역에 적용되는 부분인 교사개발과 의사소통 등을 중점으로 재교육 프로그램을 마련해야 한다.
셋째, 재교육이 필요하지 않다고 느끼는 이유는 ‘기타’ 응답이 ‘그냥 필요하지 않다’는 것으로써 가장 높은 빈도를 보였으며, 그다음 ‘시간이 부족하기 때문에’, ‘교육대상이 아니라고 생각해서’, 등의 순으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 유아·유치부 교육전도사에게 재교육에 대한 필요성을 고취시키기 위해서는 물리적, 비물리적인 환경과 상황을 제공해야 하고(마일두, 2001; 임명혁, 2006), 교육전도사에 대한 명칭과 정체성, 역할에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다.

본 논문의 연구대상이 갖는 한계로 본 연구의 대상이 일부 교단 교육전도사들에게 편향이 되어있어 연구 결과를 일반화하기에는 무리가 있다. 향후 다양한 집단을 대상으로 한 후속 연구가 필요하다.
