姜夔, 『白石道人詩說』의 3단계 作詩論과 ‘四高妙說’ = A Study on three-stage poem writing theory and Four Subtlety of the Poetry Theory of Baishi Daoren

Jiangkui, a poet of the NanSong dynasty, wrote The Poetry Theory of Baishi Daoren to inherit and overcome the poetics of the school of Jiangxi Poetry. The Poetry Theory of Baishi Daoren contained a unique and systematic three-stage poem writing theory. Jiangkui said that in order to write a poem, a poet must first cultivate knowledge and morality and use it as a source of poetic material. Next, he said that the work should be conceived through deep thought and spontaneous enlightenment. And the last is the stage of language expression, and various creative methods according to the length and structure of the text and the object of expression were presented. Furthermore, Jiangkui divided the ideal state of poetry pursued by this poem writing theory into four subtleties. The concepts of "subtle" and "realization" of these four subtleties, which informed the influence of Zen Buddhism, later contributed greatly to the development of Song Dynasty by influencing Yanyu's Notes On Poets and Poetry.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

남송의 詞人이자 詩人인 姜夔의 유일한 詩話 『白石道人詩說』은 江西詩派의 시학을 계승, 지양하여 독특하고 체계적인 3단계 詩作論을 제시했다. 姜夔는 시를 쓰려면 먼저 지식과 도덕성을 수양해 涵養을 확충함으로써 詩材의 원천으로 삼아야 하며 그다음에는 精思와 自悟라는 정밀한 사유와 주체적 깨달음을 통해 작품을 구상해야 한다고 했다. 그리고 마지막은 언어 표현 단계인데 글의 길이와 구조, 표현의 대상에 따른 여러 창작 방법을 제시하였다. 나아가 姜夔는 이런 作詩論이 지향하는 이상적 시의 경계를 4가지 高妙로 나누었다. 당시 유행한 禪宗의 영향을 알려주는 이 四高妙說의 ‘妙’와 ‘悟’ 개념은 훗날 嚴羽의 『滄浪詩話』에 영향을 줘서 송대 시화의 발전에 크게 기여했다.
