완벽주의적 자기제시가 여대생의 폭식행동에 미치는 영향: 정서표현 양가성과 정서적 섭식의 순차적 이중매개효과 = The Effect of Perfectionistic Self-presentation on Female University Students’ Binge Eating Behavior: The Sequential Effect of Ambivalence over Emotional Expression and Emotional Eating

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 완벽주의적 자기제시가 여대생의 폭식행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보되, 그 과정에서 정서표현 양가성과 정서적 섭식이 순차적으로 이중매개하는지 검증하는 것이다. 연구방법: 설문지를 통해 얻은 281명의 자료를 분석하였으며, SPSS 18.0과 PROCESS Macro를 통해 기술통계 분석, 상관 분석, 매개효과 검정을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 여대생의 완벽주의적 자기제시와 정서표현 양가성간 유의미한 정적 상관이 확인되었다. 둘째, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 폭식행동간 관계에서 정서표현 양가성과 정서적 섭식이 순차적으로 이중매개하는 것이 확인되었다. 셋째, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 정서표현 양가성 모두 정서적 섭식과의 유의한 관련성이 확인되었다. 결론: 여대생의 폭식행동을 이해할 때에 완벽주의적 자기제시 뿐만 아니라 정서표현 양가성과 정서적 섭식 두 변수의 역할을 중요하게 고려해야 한다. 본 연구결과는 향후 여대생의 폭식행동에 대한 통합적 이해을 위한 연구와 임상적 개입을 도모할 때 기초적인 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objective: This study aimed to examine the impact of perfectionistic self- presentation on female university students’ binge eating behavior and verify whether ambivalence over emotional expression and emotional eating had sequential mediating effects. Methods: Data obtained through questionnaire for 281 participants were analyzed. Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and mediating effect verification were conducted through SPSS 18.0 and PROCESS Macro. Results: First, a significant static correlation between perfectionistic self-presentation of female university students and ambivalence over emotional expression was confirmed. Second, it was verified that ambivalence over emotional expression and emotional eating were double-mediated sequentially in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and binge eating behavior. Third, both perfectionistic self-presentation and ambivalence over emotional expression were found to have a significant relationship with emotional eating. Conclusions: Results suggested that the role of two variables-ambivalence over emotional expression and binge eating-as well as perfectionistic self-presentation should be considered in understanding female students’ binge eating behavior. Thus, this study is expected to provide basic information in promoting clinical intervention and research for an integrated understanding of female students’ binge eating behavior in the future.
