눈과 입의 표상 형태에 따른 유아의 연령별 정서 인식 = The Impact of the Form of Eye and Mouth on Children`s Perception according to Age

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The presented study examined differences of children`s perception of a smiling face and an angry face according to the form of eye and mouth, the expression of emotion of people around them, and advanced emotional information. Two hundred thirty one children aged from 3 to 5 years old at J and K preschool in Busan were selected to participate in this study. The result of this study were as follows; First, the form of mouth rather than the form of eye had an effect on children`s perception of smiling emotion. The form of eye rather than the form of mouth had an effect on children`s perception of angry emotion. Children showed the development of cognition of smiling emotion according to a smiling face in age. However, there was no difference of accuracy of angry emotion according to an angry face in age. Second, there was no influence of age in children`s angry emotion and smiling emotion according to similar information. Third, children were confused at different emotional expression of eye and mouth: `a smiling eye and an angry mouth`; `an angry eye and a smiling mouth`. Children were more confused at the face of `a smiling eye and an angry mouth` rather than the face of `an angry eye and a smiling mouth`. Moreover, the form of eye was priority when children accepted information of emotion of others because there was high accuracy of children`s cognition according to `a smiling eye and an angry mouth` in age. Fourth, when environment around children showed same emotional information, children cognized smiling emotion more accurately. However, children cognized angry emotion accurately regardless of emotional information around them. Fifth, advanced emotional information around children had a great effect on children`s perception. angry emotion rather than smiling emotion had an effect on children`s cognition.
