바타이유의 비정형성 이론에 의한 크라우스의 포스트모더니즘 조각비평

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 크라우스가 바타이유의 비정형 이론을 활용한 포스트모더니즘 조각비평에 관한 것이다. 종래의 비평이 미술작품의 형식과 내용 중 어느 하나에만 초점을 맞춘 것이었지만, 이 이론은 대립관계에 있는 형식과 내용의 외부, 그리고 그 자체가 형식적 이원론적 사고의 외부에 위치하는 제 3의 용어이다.
이러한 바타이유의 비정형 이론을 당대의 미술작품에 적용하여 체계적인 이론을 전개시킨 학자는 크라우스이다. 그녀는 1980년대부터 브르통, 달리의 초현실주의 작품을 프로이드 학설로 해석하는 관점에서 벗어나 구조주의 이론가인 라캉과 脫초현실주의자인 바타이유 이론에 치중하면서 충동과 무의식의 정신분석적 이해를 더 많이 이용하게 되었다.
그 결과 그녀는 포스트모더니즘 미술의 다양성을 해석하는데 바타이유의 비정형성 이론이 유용할 것이라고 확신한 것이다. 그리고 그녀는 논리의 정당성과 객관성을 보완하기 위하여 수평성 이론, 저급한 유물론 이론, 시·공간의 분리성 이론, 엔트로피 이론 등 여타 사상가들의 학설도 수용한 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is on the critique of postmodernism sculptures generated from which Krauss utilized Bataille's view of the formless. The previous critique was focused upon either the form or the content of an artwork, which is the third term existing outside the confronting form and content.
It is Krauss who developed a systematic theory applied Bataille's theory of the formless to the contemporary art. She, out of the viewpoint to interpret the Surrealistic works by Breton and Dali with Freud's theory from the 1980s, came to use the psychological understanding of instinct and unconsciousness more and more, emphasizing theories by the structuralist Lacan and then ex-surrealist Bataille.
As a result, she made sure that Bataille's theory of the formless would be useful for interpreting the variety in postmodernism art. And, she introduced other theorists' views into her realm such as horizontality, base materialism, split of time and space, entropy, etc., in order to supplement validity and objectivity of her logic.
