교회사회사업의 통전적 선교를 통한 공산권 선교 방안에 관한 소고

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지금까지 대부분의 해외 선교의 패턴은 주로 직접적인 선교에 의존한 바 있다. 그러나 그것이 복음주의적 접근이든지 아니면 에큐메니칼적인 접근이 든지 간에 그리 성공적이지 못했다는 평가를 접하고 있다. 복음주의적 접근(evangelical mission)은 지나친 교회성장을 강조한 나머지 선교지의 상황 이해나 문화 이해 없이 직접적으로 던져지는 복음만을 강조하였기 때문이며, 에큐메니칼 선교(ecumenical mission)는 나름대로 사회구원이나 사회개혁을 강조하긴 했으나 개인의 영혼을 깊이 사랑하는 구령의 열정이 구체적으로 담기지 못했기 때문이다. 특히 이러한 현상은 복음의 제한지역 또는 차단지역인 사회주의 국가에서는 더욱 분명하게 나타나는 현상이라고 볼 수 있다. 이런 관점에서, 교회사회사업을 통한 통전 선교(holistic mission)는 한 손에는 능력의 복음을, 그리고 또 한 손에는 지역사회의 개발과 문화, 그리고 그들의 삶의 자리까지 이해하고 끌어안는 그리스도의 실천적 사랑을 가지고, 오랜 독재치
하에서 고통에서 갈등하던 사람들의 마음을 이해하고 치료함으로써, 친밀하게 그들에게 다가갈 수 있는 중요한 선교 매체라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 한국교회는 사회주의 국가의 선교를 실행하는 데 있어서 일방적이고 직접적인 복음전도의 방법만을 고집할 것이 아니라, 교회사회사업을 통한 통전선교를 통하여 가장 효과적으로 접근할 수 있는 방안을 지속적으로 마련하고 활용해 나아가야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Until now the pattern of most abroad mission work have been depended on mostly direct mission work. However, it has been evaluated as unsuccessful whether it was evangelical approach or ecumenical approach. It is so, because evangelical mission has emphasized solely on gospel, which is put forth directly without the understanding of culture and situation of the mission field due to emphasis on the growth of church, while, ecumenical mission did emphasize social salvation and social reformation in its own way but passion for salvation that deeply loves individual's spirit was absent. Especially, situations like this is a situation that becomes more clearer in socialist countries, where gospel is shut out. In this perspective, holistic mission through Church Social Work is about powerful gospel on one hand and community development and culture on the other, and through understanding and healing people's minds, who are struggling with pain under long dictatorship with Christ's practical love that comprehends and embraces their place of life holistic mission is an important mission medium that enables intimate approach. Therefore, Korean churches should not insist on unilateral and direct evangelical approach method in carrying out mission work in socialist countries but rather the most effective approach methods with holistic mission through Church Social Work should be continuously provided and utilized.
