음양, 남녀 그리고 탈현대 = Post-modern Implication of Yin-yang Theory to Man-Woman Relationship

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 음양론의 관점에서 현대 남녀관계의 문제를 극복할 수 있는 대안을 찾는 것이다. 현대사회를 지배하고 있는 남녀관계관은 불평등과 갈등의 관점이다. 그러나 이런 남녀관계관은 현실의 남녀관계를 전면적으로 설명하지 못한다. 불평등과 갈등의 남녀관계는 남녀관계를 일면적으로 이해하고 관계를 개선하는 데는 기여하였지만, 현대의 남녀관계가 직면하고 있는 반목과 대립의 문제를 극복할 수 있는 방법을 제시하는 데는 한계를 갖고 있다. 이와 같은 현대의 남녀관계의 문제를 극복하기 위해서는 새로운 남녀관계에 대한 관점이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 그 해답을 음양론에서 찾고자 한다.
음양론은 본래 음과 양을 절대적인 평등의 관점에서 인식한다. 그러나 남성중심적인 전근대 동아시아 사회에서 음陰적인 것은 낮추고 양陽적인 것은 높이는 관행이 오랫동안 존속하였다. 이로 인해서, 음과 양 자체를 불평등의 관계로 인식하려는 경향이 있다. 하지만, 본고가 새로운 남녀관계관의 근원으로 삼고 있는 음양론은 음과 양을 절대적인 평등의 관계로 인식하는 본래의 음양론이다.
본고는 음양론의 관점 위에서 새로운 남녀관계관을 모색해 보았다. 음양론에서 가져올 수 있는 가장 핵심적인 메시지는 남녀관계를 절대 평등과 조화의 관계로 바라보는 점이다. 이런 음양론의 남녀관계관은 현대사회의 남녀관계가 직면해 있는 문제를 해소하고, 탈현대적인 남녀관계관의 구성을 위한 굳건한 기반이 될 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to recover the problems of current man-woman relationship in terms of Yin-yang theory. The modern view of man-woman relationship can not explain the real man-woman relationship well, and frequently explain it in terms of relations of inequality and conflict. But the modern view has limitation to solve the problems of current man-woman relationship. Therefore, a new view of man-woman relationship is needed. I will try to find out a new view in Yin-yang theory.
Many people regard that Yin is worthless and worse and Yang is worthy and better. This kind of understanding is partly right in the past historical East Asian societies. But this is not original meaning of Yin and Yang.
The concern of this paper is original and theoretical meaning of Yin and Yang. It includes fluent wisdom about absolute equality and harmony between man and woman. Therefore, I will try to find out the post-modern alternative that recover the problems of current man-woman relationship.
