<만복사저포기>에 나타난 정서의 미학 = Aesthetics of sentiment expressed in <Manboksa-jeopo-gi>

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 우리 고유의 문화적 맥락에서 ‘심정’에 천착하여 <만복사저포기>를 읽어내고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 문화권의 특성과 삶의 양식에 적합하게 상응하는 연구방법을 지향하는 문화심리학을 원용했다. 먼저, <만복사저포기>에 나타난 심정의 발현 양상을 살폈다. 작중 상황에 따라 인물들의 심정이 표출되는 시 제문 대화 등을 살핀 결과, 기쁨의 감정보다는 슬픔, 안타까움, 이별의 고통등 비극적 정조가 두드러짐을 알 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 심정의 발현 양상이 지향하는 의미를 밝히는 시도도 이루어졌다. 문화심리학의 개념과 이론을 바탕으로 고독과 머뭇거림, 사라짐의 결말에 주목한 결과 한국인의 恨과 情의 심층심리가 각기 지향하는 인고의 미학, 관계의 미학 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 한국인의 심층심리는 서사의 흐름을 따라 상호작용하면서 작중인물 및 수용자의 심정을 발현시키게 되고, 결국 ‘부지소종’의 열린 결말을 통해 다양한 해석을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 사라짐의 미학을 지닌 것으로 파악되었다. 본고는 <만복사저포기>를 관통하는 한국인의 정서와 심리를 우리의 이론으로 해명하는 것에 의의를 두고자 하였으나, 시론적 작업에 그치고 말았다는 아쉬움이 남는다. 또한 문화심리학에 대한 이론적 체계가 확고하게 자리매김하지 않은 상태에서 단편적으로 이론을 원용하고 있다는 한계도 지닌다. 문화심리학을 정밀하게 분석하고 보완하여 문학 해석의 이론체계를 갖추는 작업은 향후 과제로 남겨둔다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Major focus of this study is on the ‘sentiment’ in <Manboksa-jeopo-gi> speculated in the context of Korean tradition. To achieve the goal, cultural psychology that is the study of how psychological and behavioral tendencies are rooted in and embodied in culture is invoked. Aspect of how sentiments are shown were elaborated initially. As a result of an analysis of poetry, narratives, and dialogues where characters express their feelings, sadness, sorriness, and heartbreak of separation other than happiness were obvious. Based on the aspect, the meaning of how the sentiments are expressed were tried to be understood. Within the boundaries of cultural psychology, solitude, hesitation, and disappearance in the end were read and lead to the blooming mental endurance and relationship to which underlying Korean regret and affection are oriented. Korean mentality in depth corresponds with the narrative following the story, reveals the sentiment of characters and a reader, and realizes the open ending with so-called ‘not known how it ended’ type of closing that is aesthetics of disappearing. It was previously mentioned that this study is to clarify Korean sentiment and psychology in <Manboksa-jeopo-gi> with own theory, but it`s regretful that only a part of the work as an initiative was conducted. Also, invoking cultural psychology was not fully based upon firm scholastic background. To develop the agenda in depth, building a theory to use cultural psychology as a measure is left to following studies.
