사이버대학⋅사이버대학원 영어과 스마트 교육을 위한 수업체계연구: 교수실재감과 상호작용의 향상을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 지원과제 <사이버대학⋅사이버대학원 영어과 스마트 교육을 위한 수업체계연구: 교수실재감과 상호작용의 향상을 중심으로(Research on the Application of Smart Education in English Teaching at Cyber Universities and Cyber Graduate Schools: Centered on Teaching Presence and Interaction)>는 모바일 교육환경을 이러닝 영어교육에 접목하려는 시도이다. 최근 오프라인 교육현장에서 모바일러닝의 도입이 급증하고 있으나 온라인 기반의 수업에서 모바일러닝을 혼합한 연계한 수업방식은 시행 초기이고, 이에 따라 이러닝 환경에서 모바일러닝을 어떻게 연계하고 어떤 실행전략을 적용해야하는가에 대한 준거체계는 명확히 제시되고 있지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 이러닝 환경, 특히 사이버대학의 영어수업에서 이러닝+ 모바일 러닝을 혼합한 블랜디드 러닝 모델을 실증적 사례를 통해 규명하고자 하였다.
본 연구의 목적은 기존 원격대학과 원격대학원의 이러닝 영어학습의 일방향성으로 인한 교수자 실재감과 상호작용의 결여, 지속적 몰입의 어려움 등과 같은 한계점을 극복하기 위한 미래지향적인 대안을 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구에서 지칭하는 원격대학(원)은 방송통신대학교, 사이버대학교, 사이버대학원, 평생교육기관 등 정규학위를 수여할 수 있는 기관을 포함한다.
본 과제의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 스마트러닝이 지니는 특성인 "학습자-학습자, 학습자-교수자, 학습자-콘텐츠 간의 소통, 협력, 참여”(임희석, 2012)를 이용하여, 이러닝-스마트러닝 혼합 영어 교수⋅학습방안을 모색하고, 이를 사이버대학과 사이버대학원의 영어수업에 현실 가능한 방안으로 제안하였다. 구체적으로, 사이버대학에서는 다양한 모바일 SNS를 이러닝 영어수업에 적용하여 그 효과를 검증한 뒤 최적의 이러닝-스마트러닝 혼합교수⋅학습 전략을 제시하였다. 또 사이버대학원에서는 온라인 석사과정 교육의 품질 향상 정책으로 의무화된 화상강의(Computer-Mediated Communication, CMC)에 모바일 clicker 앱(소크라티브, 핑퐁, Symflow 등)를 접목하여 학습자들의 상호작용, 교수실재감, 수업 몰입도를 높이기 위한 교수전략을 모색해 보았다.
이에 따라 본 연구의 목표는 web 1.0 시대의 일방향적인 원격대학(원)의 이러닝 영어수업의 문제점들을 진단한 뒤 쌍방향적인 web 2.0 스마트러닝 시대에 맞는 혁신적인 이러닝-스마트러닝 교수⋅학습방안을 제시하고자 하는 것이다.

Recently, the adoption of mobile learning to off-line education environments has been increasing, but utilizing mobile learning in online classes is still in its initial phase, resulting in no clear criteria of how to incorporate mobile learning into e-learning. With this background, the present study aims to suggest future smart e-learning blended models by utilizing mobile applications/platforms in cyber English classes.
The main purpose of this study is, thus, to provide future-oriented alternatives to overcome the limits of cyber education environments, such as lack of concentration and lack of teacher-student/student-student interaction caused by one way online communication. After verifying the effectiveness of mobile clikers at undergraduate English classes, this also proffered smart teaching strategies at online graduate courses.
The study reports the following details.
First, it implemented blended teaching/learning methods that combined e-learning and mobile learning at cyber English classes by utilizing mobile platforms(Kakaotalk, Band, Socrative etc) and SNS.
Second, by comparing three mobile applications, this study suggested optimized smart e-learning strategies at cyber universities.
