위만조선의 대한전(對漢戰)과 왕검성 = Wiman Choseon's War against Chinese Han Dynasty and Wanggeomseong

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 위만조선과 한의 전쟁을 『사기』조선열전을 중심으로 살펴 본 것이다. 이중에 가장 중요한 지리적 조건은 패수와 왕검성 그리고 열수에 관한 것이다. 전쟁의 대외적인 요건으로 한나라에 가장 위협적인 존재는 북방의 흉노족이다. 기원전 121년 부터 흉노가 한에 패해 항복하며 전세는 역전된다. 이후 한나라는 동남쪽의 남월과 동월 등을 제압하고 동북의 위만조선으로 그 침략의 방향을 튼다. 『사기』 조선열전에 나오는 요동은 오늘날 요하 이동이라기보다는 요서 지역으로 보는 것이 타당하다. 위만조선을 침공하기 위해 제에서 발해로 간 한나라 군사는 5만으로 이들에 대항하기 위해 위만조선 쪽에서도 군사적 대응이 있었다고 보여 진다. 한과의 협상과정에 말 5천 필을 요구한 점도 위만조선이 군사강국임을 증명한다. 하지만 위만조선 내부 지도층의 분열로 결국 왕검성은 함락한다. 『사기』조선열전에 나오는 열구 즉 열수는 대동강으로 보기 어렵다. 이 열수는 현재의 요하로 인정된다. 패수는 오늘날 요하 서쪽에 있는 요양하로 보여 진다. 또 패수와 왕검성은 가까운 위치에 있었다고 생각된다. 험독은 큰 강을 끼고 있었으며 결국 험독은 오늘날 요하 옆에 있었다고 판단된다. 험독 곧 왕검성은 요하 서쪽에 있는 오늘날 대안현의 손성자고성으로 인정된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The most important thing in the war between Wiman Choseon and the Chinese Han Dynasty is geographical conditions. It is the location problem of Paesu, Wanggeom-seong, and Yeolsu.
The most menacing existence to the Chinese Han Dynasty were the northern Xiongnu. The soldiers who went to war against Wiman Choseon are not prisoners. It is an army with strong fighting power that was put into the fight against the Xiongnu. However, from 121 BC, the Xiongnu were defeated by the Chinese Han Dynasty and surrendered. Finally, they invaded Wiman Choseon in the northeast.
Liaodong in Shiji is not east of Liaohe today. Rather, the Liaoxi region makes sense. Invading Wiman Choseon the Chinese Han Dynasty that crossed Bohai numbered 50,000. Against these soldiers, Wiman Choseon has its own armed response. That’s the Navy. During negotiations between Wiman Choseon and the Chinese Han Dynasty, Emperor Hanwu demands 5,000 horses from Wiman Choseon. This conversely proves that Wiman Choseon is a military power. General Louchuan experiences failure in his war against Nanyue. He also competes with General Zou for achievements during the attack on Wiman Choseon. However, due to the division of the leadership inside Wiman Choseon, Wanggeom-seong eventually fell.
Yeolsu in Shiji is not Daedonggang. This Yeolsu is now Liaohe. Also, Paesu is not that big of a river like Liaohe. It’s not a very small river either. After all, Paesu is today Raoyanghe, west of Liaohe. Xiandu was along a big river. Xiandu was next to Liaohe today. Soon Xiandu is the ancient Sunchengzi castle of present-day Taianxian, west of Liaohe.
