국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회적 동물인 인간은 타인과 관계를 형성하면서 삶을 시작한다. 그래서 인간의 관계 형성, 유지, 단절에 관한 다양한 연구가 수행되었다. 온라인 관계도 오프라인 관계와 유사하다. 따라서, 온라인상에서 대인 간 관계를 형성, 유지, 단절에 관한 다양한 연구가 수행됐다. 하지만, 모바일 메신저 혹은 SNSs(Social Network Services) 상에서는 관계 형성, 유지, 단절 외에도 숨김이라는 또 다른 기능이 존재한다. 해당 기능이 모바일 메신저상에서 적극적으로 사용되고 있음에도 불구하고 모바일 메신저 사용자가 해당 기능을 사용하는 이유에 관한 연구는 부족하다. 본 연구는 모바일 메신저 상에서 숨김 기능을 사용하는 예측변수를 탐색하기 위해 수행되었다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 관계 품질, 프라이버시 관심, 인지된 차단 등 세 가지 예측변수 중에 숨김의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 프라이버시 관심으로 나타났다. 또한, 숨김 기능을 사용하고 있는 사용자와 사용하지 않는 사용자로 그룹을 나눈 후에 두 집단 간의 차이를 분석한 결과, 숨김 기능을 사용하고 있는 사용자에게서 프라이버시 관심이 숨김 기능에 유의한 영향을 미친다고 나타났다. 성별에 따른 차이 분석에서는 프라이버시 관심이 숨김의도에 미치는 영향은 여성에서만 유의하게 나타났으며, 남성에게서는 유의한 관계가 나타나지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과는 모바일 사용자가 숨김 기능을 사용하는 이유는 자신의 프라이버시에 대한 관심 때문이라는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한, 여성이 남성보다 숨김 기능을 사용할 가능성이 높다는 것을 알 수 있다.

Humans, social animals, begin their lives by forming relationships with others. Therefore, various studies have been conducted on the formation, maintenance, and termination of human relationships. Online relationships are similar to offline relationships. Accordingly, various studies have been conducted on forming, maintaining, and ending (disrupting) interpersonal relationships online. However, in addition to forming, maintaining, and disconnecting relationships, there is another function called hiding on mobile messengers or SNSs (Social Network Services). Despite the fact that the function is actively used on mobile messengers, there is a lack of research on why mobile messenger users use the function. This study was conducted to explore predictors of using the hiding function on mobile messengers. The analysis results are as follows. Among the three predictors, including relationship quality, privacy concerns, and perceived blocking, the factor that had a significant impact on concealment intention was privacy concerns. In addition, after dividing the groups into users who were using the hiding function and those who were not using it, the results of analyzing the differences between the two groups showed that privacy concerns had a significant impact on the hiding function among users who were using the hiding function. In the analysis of differences by gender, the effect of privacy concerns on intention to conceal was significant only for women, and no significant relationship was found for men. These results show that the reason mobile users use the hiding function is because they are concerned about their privacy. Additionally, it can be seen that women are more likely to use the hiding function than men.
