This study analyzed the perception of well-dying and attitudes toward death by sub-factors in order to increase the psychological well-being of the elderly for well-dying and investigated the effect on the psychological well-being of the elderly for well-dying. To this end, 230 copies were conducted for the elderly aged 65 or older living in Daegu Metropolitan City, but 200 copies were analyzed, excluding 30 copies that could not be used. The survey was conducted in November with the help of 2-3 investigators. The research results are as follows.
First, the overall effect of the survey subjects' well-dying perception and attitude toward death on the elderly's psychological well-being seems to be high. This can be said that the elderly are actively working to raise awareness of well-dying, and the higher the attitude toward death, the higher the psychological well-being of the elderly. Second, it was found that the higher the clinical symptoms, intimacy, and sense of control, which are sub-variables of well-dying perception, which are variables that affect the psychological well-being of the elderly, the higher the psychological well-being. Third, in the attitude toward death, it was confirmed that the higher the sub-variables such as death anxiety, death acceptance, and death readiness, the higher the psychological well-being of the elderly.
These results provide basic data to increase the psychological well-being of the elderly for well-dying, the biggest concern in modern society, based on the fact that well-dying awareness and attitude toward death were identified as important factors in the elderly's psychological well-being.
