This study aims to analyze the factors influencing university soccer players' confidence across different game stages. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 players and analyzed using inductive content analysis. The findings revealed that pre-match confidence was shaped by social support, preparation, ability, psychological strategies, uncontrollable external factors, and indirect experiences. During matches, confidence was influenced by social support, ability, performance outcomes, and external factors. Post-match confidence was primarily driven by social support, psychological strategies, and performance outcomes. This study identifies confidence factors specific to each game stage, expanding sports psychology theories and providing foundational insights for developing tailored psychological support programs.
