문목과 별지를 활용한 퇴계와 그 문도들의 고전 연구 = Study of Toegyeh and his disciples by 別紙 and 問目

study 別紙 and 問目 (literary forms) co-founded by Toegyeh and his disciples and their influence on academic activities. In fact, flexible application of 別紙 and 問目 was an imitation and succession of studying way of Zhu Xi to a considerable degree. Toegyeh and his disciples flexibly used study form of Zhu Xi and shook off constraints of inherent study form. After discussed and researched by scholars, this study way was recorded, thus having highly research value. These historical materials in words have enriched the research results of contemporary scholars, and they will also have sustained and far-reaching influence on study and research of scholars of younger generation. Toegyeh and his disciples studied not only 經傳 but also 性理學. A study atmosphere was gradually formed around them, and the late knowledge study upsurge in Korea was just formed in this atmosphere. Study of Toegyeh and his disciples not only added to and developed prior classical works but also raised the late academic standards of Korea to a new level.
