청소년의 도움추구태도가 상담추구행동에 미치는 영향 : 사회적 지지유형의 매개효과 = Mediating Effect of Type of Social Support on the Relationships between Help-seeking Attitudes and Professional Help-seeking Behavior among Adolescents

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between help-seeking attitudes and professional help-seeking behavior and whether this relationship is mediated by individual's perceptions of social support among adolescents. Participants showing professional help-seeking behavior were 128 middlle school students who visited counseling center for counseling. Participants with not showing professional help-seeking behavior were 110 middle school students who ranked high 20% in the questionnaire of problem behavior. The results indicated that professional help-seeking behavior was predicted by help-seeking attitude. Especially, among subscales of help-seeking attitude, openness with relationships and trust to expert significantly predicted professional help-seeking behavior among adolescents. In addition, the results showed that the perceptions of informational support and emotional support mediated the relationships between help-seeking attitudes and professional help-seeking behavior. The implications of these findings were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 청소년의 도움추구태도와 실제 상담추구행동 간의 관계에 대해 조사하였으며, 이러한 관계에서 지각된 사회적 지지유형의 매개효과에 대하여 분석하였다. 청소년의 실제 상담추구행동을 알아보기 위해 상담을 받으려고 자발적으로 상담실을 직접 내방한 청소년들과 학교에서 여러 어려움과 문제행동을 나타내고 있으나 상담추구행동을 보이지 않는 청소년들을 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 자발적으로 상담추구행동을 보이는 중학생 128명과 상담이 필요하지만 상담을 받고 있지 않은 중학생 110명이었다. 다양한 문제행동을 보이나 상담추구행동을 보이지 않는 청소년들을 선별하기 위하여 문제행동척도가 사용되었으며, 연구대상 모두에게 도움추구태도척도와 대인관계 지지 평가척도가 사용되었다. 연구결과, 청소년들의 도움추구태도는 그들의 상담추구행동을 유의미하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 도움추구태도의 하위척도 중에서 대인관계에서의 개방성과 전문가에 대한 신뢰가 청소년의 상담추구행동을 유의미하게 예측하였다. 또한 도움추구태도와 상담추구행동 간의 관계에서 지각된 사회적 지지유형의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과, 청소년들이 자신의 사회적 지지 망으로부터 지각한 정보적 지지와 정서적 지지는 도움추구태도와 상담추구행동 간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다.
