In the social science, diversity is used to explain entities with members who have identifiable differences in individual's backgrounds or ways of life. The use of diversity may embrace differences in racial or ethnic classifications, age, gender, religion, physical abilities, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation as well as other identifying features. Therefore the pursuit of diversity is an all-purpose strategy that promotes success throughout the public and private sector.
This article considered how one would understand and assess diversity under a number of different social political theory - liberal, communitarian, utilitarian and functionalist. Specially, because reason for being in liberal society is the pursuit of individual self-realization and material well-being one has a need to develop mutual respect, and diversity is the most valuable resources for doing so. Our philosophy of diversity is a normative eclecticism. We have always combined both liberal inclusive and communitarian exclusionary elements in our attitudes and policies toward groups that are diverse.
And diversity promotes good outcomes and prevents socially-harmful behavior, and can enhance the quality of educational institutions, political systems, business enterprises, and other social entities. Therefore diversity plays a fundamental role in constitutional structure of government and ideal of a free enterprise economic system.
