HIV/AIDS 감염인의 외상 후 성장에 대한 질적 메타요약: 국외 연구 중심으로 = Qualitative Meta-Summary on Posttraumatic Growth Among People Living with HIV/AIDS: Focusing on International Research

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 외상 후 성장(Post-Traumatic Growth, PTG)을 통합적으로 이해하기 위해 국외 질적 연구를 질적 메타요약 방법으로 분석하였다. 2025년 10월까지 발표된 관련 질적 연구 9편을 선정하고, CASP를 활용하여 연구의 질을 평가하였다. 총 369개의 진술문을 추출한 뒤 의미적․경험적 유사성을 기준으로 축약하여 59개의 축약 진술문을 도출하였으며, 이는 3개 핵심 주제와 10개 하위 주제로 구분되었다. HIV/AIDS 외상 후 성장 경험의 핵심 주제는 ① 과거 HIV 진단 경험의 충격과 낙인으로 인한 복합적 외상 반응, ② 삶에 대한 적응과 수용 과정에서의 사회적 지지와 인지적․정서적․행동적 조정을 통한 적응 과정, ③ HIV 감염을 통한 성장과 변화 과정의 성찰․정체성 재구성․가치․관계․이타성으로 확장되는 다차원적 성장으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 HIV라는 만성․낙인 질환의 특수성이 반영된 성장 양상으로 확인되었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 상담적 개입 방안과 후속 연구를 위한 제언에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study conducted a qualitative meta-summary to examine the post-traumatic growth (PTG) experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Nine qualitative studies published up to October 2025 were identified and analyzed, and the quality of each study was evaluated using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP). From these studies, 369 PTG-related statements were extracted and condensed into 59 summary statements based on their semantic and experiential similarity. These statements were organized into three core themes and ten subthemes. The findings revealed three major domains of PTG among PLWHA: (1) complex traumatic reactions stemming from the shock of HIV diagnosis and the experience of stigma; (2) adaptive processes characterized by social support, cognitive reappraisal, emotional acceptance, and behavioral adjustment; and (3) multidimensional growth encompassing self-reflection, identity reconstruction, value and relational reorientation, and expansion toward altruistic engagement. These patterns suggest that PTG among PLWHA reflects growth trajectories shaped by the unique nature of HIV as a chronic and stigmatized condition. Based on these findings, this study discusses the implications for counseling interventions targeting PLWHA and provides suggestions for future research.
