인격의 일부로 그림자를 통합해가는 아동 모의 모래놀이 사례연구 = A case study of sandplay therapy through which a child’s mother integrates the shadow as part of her personality

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부모의 양육과정에서 내담자에 대한 학업성취 요구와 억압이 많았던 아버지로 인해 내면의 자아가 자라지 못하고 미분화된 소녀 상태에 있는 39세 중년 여성의 모래놀이 상담사례이다. 진행된 24회기의 상담 중 모래상자를 꾸민 총 14회기의 모래작품을 분석의 대상으로 삼아 대상자의 내적 의식의 흐름에 따라 4단계로 나누어 분석하였다. 내담자는 자아의 미분화 상태에서 개성화 과정의 첫 단계인 그림자 직면의 어려움을 가지고 있었다. 이러한 상태는 내담자로 하여금 외적인 현실적응의 어려움을 겪게 하고 내적 혼돈 속에 머물게 하였다. 이를 극복하기 위해 내담자는 상담을 진행하면서 그림자를 인식하고, 인식한 그림자가 두려워 그림자 회피를 하고, 그림자와의 투쟁 과정을 거쳐, 그림자를 자신의 친구로 삼아 수용하고 자신의 인격의 일부로 통합하는 과정을 경험하였다. 모래와의 접촉을 통해 개성화 과정으로 가기 위한 첫 단계인 그림자 인식과 수용, 통합하는 과정을 보여주었다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study presents a case of sandplay therapy of child’s mother who was in the mental state of an undifferentiated girl with an immature ego due to her father who had put high expectations on her regarding her academic achievements and was very controlling to her while rearing her. This study analyzed the 14 sessions of a total of 24 sessions of sandplay therapy where the client created sand trays by dividing them into four stages according to the stream of her consciousness. The client, whose ego remained undifferentiated, had difficulty facing her shadow. This psychological state hindered her from adapting to reality and getting away from the inner chaotic state. In this case of sandplay therapy that aimed at overcoming these difficulties, the client experienced the process where she recognized her shadow; avoided it due to the fear of it; struggled with it; accepted it as her friend; and finally integrated it as part of her personality. This case is significant as it illustrates the process of the recognition, acceptance and integration of the shadow, which constitute the first stage of individuation, through the contact with sand.
