실과교육에 대한 반성 및 새로운 대안 = Introspection and New Direction of Practical Arts Education in Elementary Schools

The purposes of this study were to introspect educational character, curriculum (educational objective, content, method, and evaluation), perception and environment in elementary practical arts education, to present new direction of them.The major findings of the study were as follows ;(1) Practical arts education should change vocational education into liberal education, and perform the it's roles related to cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development.(2) Practical arts curriculum should deal with educational constituent's needs, the change of social and educational environment. That is, it should contain the educational objectives that can put to practical use, the contents that reflect sequence, continuity, and integrity. the methods and the evaluation that can manage and measure the educational objectives.(3) Practical arts education teachers should instruct educational contents exactly, exert all possible efforts for recognition of practical arts education.(4) Practical arts education should manage the related subjects, extra-curricular activities, and discretional activities etc, improve the educational environment.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 미국 초·중등학교에서 실과영역으로서의 농업교육에 관한 문헌을 고찰을 함으로서 미래 우리나라 농업교육과정의 개발과 시행에 관한 아이디어를 제공하고자 하였다. 논문의 구성은 4개 영역으로 이루어져 있다. 영역Ⅰ에서는 실과 내에서의 농업교육의 중요성과 초·중등학교에 개설된 농업교육과정을 설명하였다. 영역Ⅱ에서는 공립 초·중등학교의 농업교육에 대한 학력 기준을 다루었으며 주 정부의 학력 기준 설정에서 필요한 요건들을 문답(question and answer) 형식으로 고찰하였다. 영역 Ⅲ에서는 주 정부의 농업교육과정 기준과 수준에 관하여 고찰하였고, 주 정부의 학력 기준을 지역과 단위학교에 어떻게 적용하고 있는지에 대하여 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 영역 Ⅳ에서는 초등교사의 농업에 관한 지식과 수업 활동들이 교육과정에 어떻게 통합 반영되고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그리고 농업의 타 교과와의 통합에 대한 교사의 인식, 교실에서의 농업활동에 대한 교사의 의욕, 농업 관련 산업 및 기술에 대한 교사의 태도가 초등 교육과정에서 농업을 타 교과와 통합 운영하는데 어떻게 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 고찰하였다.
