부모의 양육방식이 자녀의 공격성에 미치는 영향: 고등학교 진학 청소년의 자아존중감의 조절효과를 중심으로 = Impacts of Perceived Parenting Styles on Aggression Among Adolescents Transitioning from Middle to High Schools: Focused on the Moderating Effect of Self-esteem

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the impacts of parenting styles on aggression among adolescents experiencing school transitions and to ascertain whether self-esteem functions as a significant moderator between the two variables. For doing this, a research model was designed. The current study analyzed the 6th wave and 7th wave data of the 4th grade panel of elementary school from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). Major results were as follows. First, perceived democratic parenting style had a significant negative impact on aggression. Second, perceived controlling parenting style had a significant positive impact on aggression. Third, the association between perceived democratic parenting style and aggression was moderated by self-esteem, where as the moderating effect of self-esteem between perceived controlling parenting style and aggression was not significant. Finally, theoretical and practical implications which contribute to solving adolescents’ aggression as well as improving parenting styles were also provided.
