사회학적 관점에서 본 무용교육 = Sociological approach of dance education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

SDance reflects culture of specific era. Dance is one of the important element of building culture of certain age, thus it helps us to understand culture of certain periods. Therefore, dance has been recognized as one of the valuable and the important curriculum of cultural education since ancient Greece. Platon emphasized the importance of dance education which can accomplish the soundness of body and spirit. Even in the royal house in monarchy age, dance education was one of the important curriculums of cultural education. These fact shows one the example of relation between dance education and society. However, now a day, dance education cannot admit the cultural stream actively. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the link of dance education and sociology, and future direction of dance education. The result of this study show that the curriculum of dance education start from recreation and ends with creative dance. Buy the way, in the present age, the creative dance education has not been taught properly in public education but has been taught in private lesson. Yoga, Dance sports, and Pilates are good example of private lesson of dance education. There are several reasons but one of the prior problems is teaching methodologies of teachers. The reason is that teaching methodology fails to notice the educational and societal aspect of dance and it only emphasizes the artistic aspect of dance. Therefore, sociological approach of dance education will extend the meaning of dance and explain the various function of dance. Thus, sociological approach of dance is one of the methodologies to show future direction of dance education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

무용은 특정한 시대를 표현하고 반영한다. 즉 춤은 우리 역사에 있어서 특정시대의 사회상을 이해하는데 많은 도움을 주고, 또한 문화를 형성하고 있다. 이러한 무용은 고대 그리스부터 그 교육적 가치를 높게 인정받았다. 플라톤은 신체와 정신의 함께 건강할 수 있는 최고의 수단을 무용을 통한 교육으로 보았고, 절대왕권 시대의 왕실에서도 교양수업에 빠지지 않는 것도 바로 무용교육이었다. 이것은 무용교육과 그 사회의 관계를 단편적으로 보여주고 있는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 현 시점에서 무용교육은 그 시대의 흐름을 빠르게 받아들여지고 있지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 무용교육이 사회와 결부하여 어떻게 전개되었으며, 그것을 통해 앞으로 우리 무용교육이 사회 속에서 어떠한 방향으로 나아가야 하는지를 검토하는 것에 연구의 목적을 두었다. 그 결과 학교 교육의 교과과정에 있는 무용교육은 놀이에서 시작되어 창작무용 교육에 이르렀다. 하지만 현 시대의 실제 학교 교육에서는 이러한 창작수업이 제대로 이루어지고 있지도 못하고, 사회적으로 반영되고 있는 요가나 댄스스포츠, 필라테스와 같은 시간외 수업으로 무용교육이 이루어지고 있다. 여기에 몇 가지 문제점이 있지만, 우선적인 것은 교사의 문제이다. 즉 이것은 무용이 예술에만 갇혀서 교육적인 면과 사회적인 면을 관가한 결과이다. 이러한 무용의 사회학적 접근은 무용의 의미를 확대시켜주며 무용의 다양한 가능성을 설명해 주는 것으로 무용교육의 나아가야 할 방향을 제시할 수 있는 방법론의 하나라고 생각되어져 계속적인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것으로 여겨진다.
