佛敎兒童福社에 관한 考察 = A Study of Buddhist Child Welfare

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

I focused on the child welfare, the most important matter in the Buddhist Social Welfare. I examined the Buddhist child welfare and devices for practicing it. First, I compared the Buddhist concept of child appeared on the sutras with that of Social Welfare.
According to the Buddhist sutras, though they need protection and cultivation, children are independent and existences who have the possibility of enlightenment, which follows the thought that every human has Buddha nature, and that is the characteristic of Buddhist view on children.
Before considering the Buddhist child welfare, I looked into the Korea's child welfare policy, and I tried to suggest the practicing direction of the Buddhist child welfare.
Regarding the activity of the Buddhist child welfare in the temples, we can use the facility of the temple and human resources for counselling and volunteering. Also we can contribute to the child mental welfare by developing humanity, spirituality, and sociality of the children through such as children's Buddhist assembly.
