동아시아 공동 통화 바스켓 페그제의 종류와 선택

국문 초록 (Abstract)

동아시아에서 통화바스켓 페그제를 실시해야 한다는 의견이 커짐에도 불구하고 과연 어떠한 통화바스켓을 만들어야 하는지에 대해서는 아직도 논쟁이 계속되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지금까지 논의되어 온 통화바스켓의 종류를 살펴보고 각 통화바스켓의 특징을 검토하였다. 한국 입장에서는 G3 공동 통화바스켓보다 ACU공동 통화바스켓이 실효환율을 안정시킨다. 뿐만 아니라 원화가 바스켓에 포함되어 있어 바스켓의 움직임이 한국경제의 펀더멘탈을 상당부분 반영하는 장점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 통화통합을 이루기 전 단계에서 우리나라 입장에서는 ACU 공동 바스켓을 채택하도록 노력하는 것이 필요하다고 볼 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Even though many researchers have recommended the currency basket peg system in East Asia, there was no consensus for proper currency basket. So far, some studies have simply focused on investigating the stabilization of effective exchange rates as a method for evaluating the currency basket. In this paper, we investigated the common ACU currency basket system and G3 currency basket peg system. The common ACU currency basket system reduces the fluctuations of nominal effective exchange rates for Korea than the common G3 currency basket peg system. Under the common ACU currency basket system, the nominal exchange rate fluctuates following by the economic fundamental. Therefore, it is desirable for Korean monetary authority to coordinate the exchange rate policies according to the ACU basket before the Asian currency union.
