보육시설 영아반의 미술활동 운영 현황과 교사들이 인식한 어려움 및 지원요구 = The Management of Art Activities in Infant Classrooms and Teachers' Perceptions of Difficulties and Needs for Support on Infant Art Activities

The purpose of this study was to examine teachers' management of art activities in infant classrooms and their perceptions of difficulties and needs for support on infant art activities. 161 infant teachers were completed a questionnaire and two journal writings. The findings of infant teachers' management of art activities are as follows. When teachers planned art activities for infants, they considered themes or units as a priority. Teachers implemented art activities 2~3 times a week, and they utilized portfolios to collect and evaluate infants' art work. The findings of teachers' perceptions of difficulties and needs for support on infant art activities are as follows. In the planning stage, infant teachers perceived that choosing right subjects and appropriate materials was most difficult. In the implementing stage, infant teachers thought that controlling infant behaviors during art activities and managing teacher-directed and product-oriented art activities were most difficult. In the completing stage, infant teachers perceived that the cleaning up and readjustment after finishing art activities was most difficult. In terms of needs for support, infant teachers longed for more instructive source books and references for infant teachers on infant art activities published and put into practical use.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 보육시설 영아반의 미술교육 현황과 교사들이 인식하는 어려움 및 지원요구를 알아보기 위해 보육시설에서 만 2세 이하의 영아반을 담당하고 있는 교사 161명을 대상으로 설문조사와 저널 분석을 실시하였다. 보육시설 영아반의 미술교육 현황을 알아본 결과, 교사들은 미술활동 계획 시 주로 잡지 및 활동자료집에서 정보를 얻고, 주제나 단원을 가장 우선적으로 고려하는 것으로 나타났다. 미술활동의 진행은 교사가 계획한 활동을 일주일에 2-3회 정도 실시하였으며, 미술활동의 평가를 위해서는 주로 작품전시집 및 포트폴리오를 활용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 보육시설 영아반 교사들이 인식한 미술활동 운영 시의 어려움을 알아본 결과, 계획 단계에서는 영아의 발달 수준과 흥미에 맞는 주제 및 재료 선정과 준비를, 진행 단계에서는 영아를 통제하고 돌발행동에 대처하는 것과 교사주도의 결과물 위주의 활동 진행을, 마무리 및 평가 단계에서는 미술활동 후 뒷정리를 가장 큰 어려움으로 인식하고 있었으며, 영아를 위한 활동자료집 및 참고자료의 개발 및 보급을 가장 필요한 지원으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
