This paper explores dynamics of variables that better account for the concept of risk perception. This study examines the relationships between technology optimism, religiosity, political ideology, situational perceptual frames, and risk perception about new food technologies such as the issue of genetically-modified organism (GMO) food. In addition, it compares the differences displayed by public types and gender in risk perception and in technology optimism (64 words).
