김치수출현황 = The Kimchi Export Industry at Present

국문 초록 (Abstract)

급격한 산업의 발전과 경제성장, 빈번한 국제교류 등으로 서구의 식생활문화에 익숙하게 된 현대사회는 인스턴트식품에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 가정이나 단체급식소에서 편의식을 주로 이용하고 가공식품에 대한 수요가 날로 늘어가고 있다. 또한 주수출국인 일본에서도 김치 소비량 및 생산량이 증가하고 있고, 2002년 월드컵을 전후로 수출 증가가 예상된다. 97년말 현재 국내 김치 제조업체수는 459개 업체로 추정되고, 이들의 일일 생산능력은 평균 3.9톤 생산인원은 12명, 업체별 평균가동율은 47.2%에 머무르고 있다. 이에 증가가 예상되는 수출전망을 위해 정부차원에서는 산업체에서 김치.절임류를 생산하는데 중요한 원료의 안정된 공급이나 신선도 유지를 위한 충분한 공간의 저온창고의 확보로 원료의 품귀현상을 대비하는 것이 필요하겠고, 시설자금지원 및 관련 연구기관의 꾸준한 김치생산 기술의 개발과 신제품의 개발에 전념 할 수 있도록 자금융자지원확대, 상호 기술 협력체제 구축, 상호 정보교환 등을 도모하는 것이 바람직하리라 생각된다. 끝으로 일부 업체들이 눈앞의 이익만을 앞세운 가격의 덤핑이나 질이 좋지 않은 원료의 사용등의 과당경쟁은 품질저하, 적정이윤의 감소, 소비자의 불신마저 초래하므로 산업발전을 저해시키지 않도록 조합 및 관련기관의 중재나 정책적 조치가 필요하리라 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The optimistic view of the kimchi market is due to the increase in the number of women joining the workforce and the trend of convenient eating habits, the consumption of manufactured kimchi is increasing annually, also the exports of kimchi is gradually on the rise.
During the 2002 world cup games exports are predicted to rise. At the end of 1997 it is estimated that there are 459 kimchi manufacturers nation wide which produce 3.9tons of kimchi daily on average, they employ an average of 12 workers and the average factory operation rate remains at 47.2%. Thus we should fulfill the task of controlling both the korean and overseas kimchi markets with our native kimchi. To make our foods internationally recognized the government should do its part by supplying raw materials to the manufacturers or by supporting the manufacturers with financial help for facilities. The government should also cooperate fully with related research institutes that develop manufacturing technics and new products.
