퇴계시에 나타난 꿈, 그 형상화의 의미 = The Dream in Toegye`s Poems and the Meaning of Its Shaping

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis is to inquire into Toegye`s consciousness and orientations by dividing the shaping of the dream in Toegye`s Dream Poetry into three ways. Firstly, his dream poems picture the conflict in the actual lives by way of the dream. The revelation of the conflict in actual lives occurs in the course of advance and retreat. The direction of dream goes toward actual space, in case recluseness is realized. On the other hand, when he was in office, the direction goes toward space of nature. Particularly, it is shown that the revelation of the conflict in actual lives even has a shadow of Taoistic nature, but extremely limited. Secondly, there is a relationship between the orientation for the unworldly space and the existence. The tendency of unworldliness shown in his dream poems reveals the realistic chain linked firmly and substitution of the existence, so that his poems keeps a distance from the tendency. On the other hand, in case the yearning for unworldliness is connected to Taoism, which is revealed connected to the Taoistic imagination located in the side of Toegye`s deep consciousness. Thirdly, he tries to realize the ideal of Confucianism. The ideal space which he found out in his dream is a nature with fresh, clean vitality in which no worldly traits can be found. That is to say, the space is the one in which he is able to cultivate himself by way of Gyung(敬). to live with nature enjoyably, and to realize the heavenly order. In the ideal confucian space which he sought for, the Taoistic shadow still exists more or less. However, it is possible to say that the shadow is a Taoistic trace merged in Confucianism.
