The Chien-chou society from the repairs of the Castle Fe Ala by Nurhachi in 1587 (year-name Wanli 15) to the founding of Late Chin developed into the early stage of the slave economy. Around this time the Chien-chu society consisted of free people(jusen), slaves(aha), beile and ejen, and free people(jusen) were an absolute majority and slaves (aha) were a minority yet.
Around the founding of Late Chin(Hou-Chin), slaves already far exceeded free people (jusen) in number and status, and became major manpower in agriculture. Therefore, the basis of the founding of Late Chin was already established. Since the foundation of Late Chin they formed a nation of a complete slave economy, began the Manchu-Ming War soon, took many prisoners of war. Consequently the number of prisoners greatly increased. Besides prisoners of Ming they plundered Koreans and Group Yehe and made them slaves. The slave labor extended from tokso to general rice fields and fields. 0 spread to labor besides agriculture. However, slaves were badly treated under the economic exploitation and political oppression of slaveholders. Therefore, slaves escaped as a form of resistance to slaveholders. By the strict treatment of slaves`escape and the success of increase of food production, they established the economic basis of Late Chin. This at last increased the fighting power of armed forces and the wealth of the Dynasty. Consequently it became the basis of winning the Manchu-Ming war.
In 1621, the forces of Late Chin seizured the Castle Liaotung. Since that time they moved the people of Liaotung captured in great numbers at the Manchu-Ming War to Chien-chou and made them slaves, expanded tokso economy. They nationalized some land of Liaotung, enforced the system of dividing the land according to the grown-up man, set up the slave economy. The direct aim of such land-dividing system is in collecting slave labor, and by doing so they could back up the National Treasury and the buildup of the military forces. It can be seen that they came to a victory at the Manchu-Ming War on the basis of the economic power here.
