      The purpose of this study is to identify the factors of smart media literacy quotient(SMLQ) and to explore the influence of the SMLQ’s factors on subject attitude and achievement in middle school students in Korea. To address this goal, 2,495 middle school students (male 1.203; 48.2%, female 1,292; 51.8%) participated in this study. Mean age of Participants was 14.95(SD=.846). Three types of survey were administered regarding smart media literacy quotient(SMLQ) as 18 items, students`` subject attitude(language, mathematic, and science), and learning achievement. The collected data were analyzed in terms of normality, reliability, correlation and multiple regression with SPSS 18.0. As a result, Four factors were identified; operating ability of smart media, Positive belief of smart media, application ability of smart media, and learning ability of smart media. Female students were more higher than male students in smart media literacy, subject attitude, and achievement. learning ability of smart media in smart media literacy was a positive influence on subject attitude and achievement. On the contrary to this, positive belief of smart media in smart media literacy was a negative influence on subject attitude and achievement. Especially, female students were more negatively influenced positive belief of smart media in smart media literacy. Male students were more negatively influenced operating ability of smart media. Based on the results, smart media literacy quotient(SMLQ), subject attitude, and achievement according to the gender differences were discussed and proposed further research in detail.
