현상학에서의 상상–후설, 사르트르, 메를로-퐁티의 상상이론 비교 = Imagination in Phenomenology - Comparison of Husserl, Sartre and Merleau-Ponty

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문의 일차적인 목적은 세 명의 현상학자, 후설, 사르트르, 메를로-퐁티의 상상이론을 비교하는 것이다. 철학사에서 상상은 인식론의 범위에서 부재하는 것에 대한 인식과 관련되어 논의되어 왔다. 이는 상상이 현전하는 것을 대상으로 하는 지각과 다소간 대립함을 함축한다. 현상학은 대상의 실재성을 괄호 안에 넣는다. 그러므로 현상학에 있어서 지각의 대상과 상상의 대상은 존재론적으로 구별되는 것이 아니라, 단지 의식과 맺는 지향적 관계에따라구별된다. 후설과사르트르는이러한주장을 공유한다. 이와는 달리 메를로-퐁티의 경우, 현상학적 기획에 충실하고자 노력을 기울인 끝에 지각과 상상을 구분하지 않는 결론을 이끌어낸다. 본 논문은 이러한 내용의 세부사항들을 검토함으로써 세 현상학자에게 공통적인 것과 차이나는 것을 찾아 비교하여, 현상학적 상상이론이 어떤 것일 수 있는지 확인하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study compares the theory of imagination of tree phenomenologists ― Husserl, Sartre and Merleau-Ponty ― with each others. Imagination is used to be mainly considered in epistemology. Generally imagination is regard as ability of knowing of absent object while perception is regard as ability of knowing of present object. But in phenomenology, the object of imagination is not ontologically distinguished from the object of perception, because the reality of the object is putted in parentheses. How imaginal or perceptional
consciousness is intentionally related with its object? That is a question of the phenomenology.
Husserl asked that question and gave his answer. Also Sartre analyzed two distinguished consciousness with his own terms. Merleau-Ponty rejected the distinction between imagination and perception according to his understanding of the phenomenological principle. In this paper, the theory of imagination of Husserl, Sartre and Merleau-Ponty is reviewed and compared with each others in order to manifest which is the suitable for the phenomenological principle.
