부모교육이 학령전기 말더듬 아동의 비유창성 감소에 미치는 효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구목적: 초기 말더듬 아동의 부모들을 대상으로 부모교육을 한 후 부모의 태도 및 말, 행동 변화의 차이와 아동의 말더듬 빈도 변화에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 부모교육을 받은 부모와 그들의 3~5세 다섯 명의 말더듬 아동 그룹(실험집단) 그리고 부모교육을 받지 않은 부모와 그들의 3~5세 다섯 명의 아동 그룹(비교집단)을 대상으로 상호작용놀이에서 아동의 말더듬 빈도변화를 측정하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 상호작용놀이에서 실험집단 아동의 말더듬 빈도 변화는 유의한 감소를 나타낸 반면, 비교집단의 경우 유의한 감소를 나타내지 않았다. 둘째, 두 집단 부모들의 사전․사후 태도 및 말, 행동 변화의 차이는 실험집단과 비교집단 모두 통계적으로 유의한 변화는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 부모태도 및 말, 행동 변화와 아동의 말더듬빈도 변화의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단의 경우 부모변화와 상호작용놀이 상황에서 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 부모 태도 및 말, 행동의 변화를 주었을 때 아동의 말더듬 빈도에 감소를 보였다. 결론: 부모교육을 받은 집단 아동들의 말더듬 빈도에 유의한 변화가 나타났다. 부모교육을 받은 집단 아동의 비유창성 감소는 부모교육이 말더듬 빈도 감소에 영향을 줄 수 있음을 시사하였다. 또한 부모교육 후 아동과 상호작용에서 부모태도 및 말 행동변화가 나타났으며 어떤 요인이 아동 비유창성감소에 영향을 주는지에 대한 후속 연구가 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of parents’ education on reducing stuttering of their children and on parents’ speech behavior. Method: Ten three-to six-year-old children who stuttered and their parents were divided into two groups: the experimental group, which received parental education, and the control group, which did not receive parental education. Results: First, children in the experimental group showed a significant decrease in the frequency of stuttering in situations of interactive play, whereas children in the control group showed no significant decrease. Second, the attitudinal and speech behavioral changes in parents between pretest and posttest were measured. The results showed no statistically significant variation either in the experimental group or in the control group. Finally, a correlation between parents’ attitudinal and behavioral changes and the frequency of stuttering in children in the experimental group was observed in situations of interactive play. Parents’ attitudinal and behavioral changes led to a decrease in the frequency of stuttering in children. Conclusion: Children in the group which received parental education showed a decrease in their disfluencies. This suggests that parental education has a positive influence on the frequency of stuttering in children. During child-parent interactive play, there were some changes in parents’ attitudes and speech behaviors after they received education on stuttering. More research is needed to identify the factors that play a role in reducing disfluencies of children.
