This study was aimed to analyze the anaerobic threshold)ventilation threshold; VT) and maximal fat oxidation exercise intensity(MFOEI) of korean dancer by comparison between female korean dancers(KD), female students of department of physical education(PE) and non-activated females(NF). Thirty-six healthy young females volunteers(12 PE, 12 KD, 12 NF) served as subjects after signing an informed consent form. Following an overnight fast, each subject completed stretching and tree minute warm-up at 3.0mph of speed and 10% of grade, followed by a maximal Bruce protocol treadmill test. Expired gases were collected and analyzed each one minute usi ng Quinton(U.S.A.) metabolic cart. VT was measured V-slope method. And MFOEI was defined as the intensity which resulted in maximal fat kilocaroie(Fkcal) as determined by converting V02 to Fkcal at each treadmill stage using RER and a Lusk table. The absolute and relative V02max of KD were significantly higher than NF(p<.05), but were not the significant difference in comparison with PE. VT(%V02max) of KD was significantly lower than PE, was significantly higher than NF(p<.05). MFOEI as expressed %V02max and %VT were not the significant difference among groups, but %HRmax was significantly lower in NF in comparison with KD and PE(p<.05). In MFOEI, Fkcal, %fat, HR, and V02 were significantly higher chan NF, but were not the significant difference in comparison with PE.
In conclusion, it is appears that Korean dance which performed regular physical active has the effect on the improvement of aerobic power as well as adaption of fat oxidation given exercise intensity. However it is needed the training program for improve the anaerobic power of korean dancer.
