The objectives of this study were (1) to investigate the socio-demographic variables inflaencing present helping behavior (2) to find out if support factors, that is, feeling of attachment, filial obligation, conflict with mother, mother's dependency, attachment behavior, have significant effects on present helping behavior.
The data used in this study included 1,004 married adult children living in Seoul and rural areas. Statistical methods were Pearson's correlation, factor analysis, ANOVA, multiple regression anaysis and path analysis.
Major findings were as follows :
1) The socio-demographic variables indicating significant relation to present helping behavior were residence, living arrangement, the number of children, occupation, age, mother's age, and birth order.
2) Feeling of attachment, filial obligation, mother's dependecny, and attachment behavior had positive effects on present helping behavior. And conflict with mother had negative effects on present helping behavior.
