일본의 교육잡지『제국교육(帝国教育)』에 관한 일 고찰: 서지정보 및 지면구성의 분석을 중심으로 = The Configuration and Characteristics of the magazine Teikoku-kyoiuku(帝国教育)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

『제국교육』은 1909년부터 1944년까지 일본에서 발행된 잡지였다. 320호부터 787호까지 매달 1-2회 발행된 이 잡지는 전국규모의 교육가 단체인 제국교육회의 기관지였다. 여기에는 일본의 교육적 이슈뿐 아니라 국내외의 정치적 상황과 해외 교육의 동향, 그리고 조선을 비롯한 식민지 및 점령지에 관한 정보도 게재되었다.『제국교육』의 구독자나 투고자가 전국의 교육가 및 문부 관료였다는 점은 이 잡지가 당시 교육계에서 차지하고 있던 위상을 짐작케 한다. 본 논문에서는 『제국교육』의 내용 분석을 통해 당시 일본 정부 및 교육계의 관심거리였던 교육적 이슈가 무엇이었으며, 독자들에게 전달하려 했던 식민지 및 점령지에 관한 정보가 무엇이었는지를 파악해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 첫째,『제국교육』이 발간되었던 시대적 배경과 더불어 이 잡지를 만든 단체인 제국교육회가 성립하기까지의 과정 및 활동 상황을 살펴본다. 둘째,『제국교육』의 서지정보나 지면 구성에 관해 고찰하고 이 잡지가 가진 특징과 성격을 분명히 하고자 한다. 셋째,『제국교육』에 나타난 식민지 및 점령지, 특히 조선교육에 관련된 정보를 검토한다. 이를 통해 당시 일본의 교육가 및 문부 관료들이 가지고 있던 식민지 및 점령지에 관한 인식의 일단을 분명히 하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Teikoku-kyoiuku was a magazine published from 1909 to 1944. Published once or twice a month from 320 to 787 issues, the magazine was the journal of Teikoku-kyoiuku-kai(the Educational Association of Empire of Japan), a nationwide group of educators. The magazine published information on domestic educational issues in Japan, political situations at home and abroad, trends in overseas education, and colonies, including Joseon. The organization, whose members included not only educators at school sites but also administrators at the Ministry of Education, was known as an advocacy group for the educational policies promoted by the Japanese government at the time. This shows the magazine's status in Japan's educational community at the time. In this paper, I analyze the contents of Teikoku-kyoiuku to understand the educational issues which the Japanese government, educators, and intellectuals were interested in at the time. To this end, first, I will examine the historical context in which the magazine was published, as well as the trends and activities of Teikoku-kyoiuku-kai that published this magazine. Second, I would like to consider the bibliographic information or page composition of Teikoku-kyoiuku and clarify the characteristics of this magazine. Third, I examine the information on colonial and Joseon education that appeared in the magazine. By doing so, I would like to clarify what educational issues were of interest in Japan at the time and what colonial information the magazine was trying to convey to its readers. This will provide a basis for examining Japanese perceptions of colonial education at that times.
