This paper deals with the microcontroller-based battery charger controllers which can be applied to the various solar systems. Designed apparatus utilizes the microcontroller's analog-digital converters and input-output ports so as to figure out the related voltage, current, temperature, and battery sizes. In addition, this system adapts the pulse width modification algorithm which provides suitable charging characteristics for the photo-voltaic equipment and battery in the system. Test of designed system functions were verified, and developed system enables the fabrication of compact electric chargers when special charging microcontrollers are used, and thus can be utilized in the application of photo-voltaic systems.
