The purpose of this study was to investigate how self-instructional training has an effect on the behaviors of autistic children. In this research, the subjects were 3 children with autism who are attending the special school located in Songpa-gu, Seoul. A multiple probe design across subjects was used as Single Subject Experiment Designs, which can be easily utilized in the educational practice. With focusing on those kinds of training program, the sequence of experiment was base line period, experimental treatment, and maintaining to carry out the order of cognitive modeling, overt instruction, overt self-instructional training, reduction of covert self-instruction training, and covert self-instructional training. The results of this study were as follow: First, The stereotyped behavior was drastically reduced after applied the The self-instruction training program. The effect was maintained and generalized. Second, The aggressive behavior was drastically reduced after applied the The self-instruction training program. The effect was maintained and generalized. This pattern study proved magnetically that self-instruction training program had an effect in the problem behavior intervention of autistic disorder student.
