This study aimed to verify whether camouflage color therapy can not only alleviate the appearance defects of vitiligo patients, but also make a practical contribution to the recovery of psychological and social functioning. The results are as follows:
First, vitiligo is caused by complex factors, and while physical symptoms are subtle, changes in appearance are directly reflected in social interactions, leading to damaged self-image, reduced self-efficacy, and an impact on interpersonal relationships.
Second, it was found that the majority of vitiligo patients are under the age of 30 and have frequently experienced social disadvantage.
Third, it was found that vitiligo patients with high self-esteem and no experience of social disadvantage (discrimination) also have high self-esteem, high self-image, and a high recognition of the strengths of treatment. Therefore, various policies and techniques have been established to maintain and improve self-esteem, self-image, and recognition of the strengths of treatment.
Fourth, the strength of the Camouflage Color Therapy treatment program has a positive effect on treatment satisfaction, and the sub-factors that make up the strength of the treatment effect are that “Compared to regular makeup, Camouflage Color Therapy has a lighter feel, better coverage, and more natural transparency.”
