한국교회 교회교육 지도자 양성 방안 연구 = Strategies to Train Director of Christian Education as Professional Educator in the Korean Church

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Education in the Korean church is being carried out by nonprofessionals, generally not fully committed and unprofessional. In order to renew and innovate church education, there is a need of systematic training for church educational leaders. The researcher desires to find it in the educational system for Director of Christian Education in the American church. The Director of Christian Education in the American church has a significant role and is producing significant outcome through consistent and systematic training. Although the system of Director of Christian Education in Korea has been discussed and enacted in the Korean Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church of Korea, and Presbyterian Church in Korea, it is not being actively promoted. As a professional Christian educator, the Director of Christian Education must be trained in the Bible and Theology, the theory and application of Christian Education, and the practice of Church Education in order to effectively carry out his/her duty. As the training plan for the Korean Church educational professionals, the researcher suggests diversification and development of professionalism in the Master of Divinity program in the seminary, restructuring Christian Education curriculum in a practical matter in Christian colleges, as well as training laymen as church educators considering the characteristics of many small Korean churches.
