The purpose of this paper is to reexaminate the generic features of so called 'Seosa-Minyo'(i. e. Korean Narrative Folksongs) from the point of orality, and then to clarify the narrativity and the compositional principles of that. According to the results so far examined, I can emphasize as follows ;
1) 'Seosa-Minyo' is a representative genre in korean oral narrative poety with oral epic. Its generic distinction is one of the narrative poems as the sub-genre of lyric poetry or the mixed genre as epic lyricism.
2) 'Seosa-Minyo' can be allowed to take fragmentary construction by episode than consitency, firmness by regular narrative patterns.
3) 'Seosa-Minyo' is composed by various parallel sentences which are made up of the formula. Those parallel sentences are fundamentally based on the princeple of metonomy. The narrative characteristics of parallel sentence can be interpreted in three kinds. First, it has decorative effects through rich rhetorical expression of the meaning. Second, it emphasizes the situational meaning instead of the standstill of narrative progress. Third, it becomes narrative forms to be lengthen.
