한국 사과의 국제경쟁력 분석 및 강화 전략 = Competitiveness and Enhancing Strategy for Korean Apples

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The competitiveness of Korean apple is lower than U.S. apple in terms of price, and lower
than Japanese apple in terms of quality in the Taiwanese market. The higher production costs of Korean
apple than those of U.S. and China mainly due to lower yield than U.S. and Chinese labor intensive production
system respectively. Our measures to increase competitiveness are as follows. 1) It is recommended
that high quality and big size apple production should be the main stream. 2) Post-harvest
technology establishment for quality uniformity is needed. 3) Export avoidance due to higher domestic
apple price should solve through “Purchase Agreement”. And 4) national level “Apple Producers Association”
is essential for self-control of apple production, marketing, and etc.
