Exploration of Women Sports Leader Education Program by Excellence Cognition in Korea Women Athletes
This study is consist of two aspect studies. Aspect 1 is focus on 9 excellent female athletes who have been played in the world class games, based on the qualitative research. The athletes were asked why Korea women athletes are strong and how they perceive their position and role in the female athlete society. Aspect 2 is considered with the result of the Aspect 1 and Delphi Technique, and Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP). We invited 72 leaders who can represent the sporting world as a panel and had them search what is needed for a female athlete to enter the leader class in the sporting world. The result of the Aspect 1 shows that the motive power for dominating the world class games are a will of iron, repeated training and specific goal, and an expectation of a material compensation. Benefit, attitude, social & cultural respect, psychological experiences after acknowledging performances in the big games such as the olympics are confidence, positive support, material help and responsibility. Their thoughts of the present treatments with considering their performances are the inadequacy of social support and the improvement of infra & system. And they understand that there are not so many positions and roles for female sportsman athletes in the sporting world. The qualification and education that are needed for female athlete leaders are professional knowledge, devotion to field, organization management and best performance, asking for an opportunity, and humanity. Aspect 2 runs with the 3rd round of the Delphi technique, and the agreement is set for over 3 points. To study the gender difference on panels' reactions, there are two categories, agreement and importance. Then we operated the one way analysis of variance(one-way ANOVA). After agreeing test on the 9 disturbance factor questions, there is no gender difference in the male-dominated organization management and the personnel system, education institutes and lack of educational contents. The rest 7 questions showed that women sports-persons have more agreement than male sports-persons regarding the disturbance factors. In the analysis on 'priority', there is no difference between the lack of women sports-persons participation and the education institute and lack of educational contents. In the rest 7 questions, women sports-persons have higher average points than the male. The priority order of the categorized factors from the 9 questions is listed the education and insufficient alternatives as the first and followed by social atmosphere as the second, and the male dominated as the third. the 9 questions of the improvement for female athletes to participate in the society show a big gender difference between female athletes and male players in average. However, in the priority, both females and males recognize the importance of the professional education for female players and seeking for a development for both male and female sports-persons. The priority order in the categorized factors based on similarity of the questions is listed in order as looking for win-win strategy, cultivating education and ability, and preparing a social system development. The agreement on the 11 questions regarding the necessity of training women sports-person leaders, there are no gender difference on persuing gender equality, learning each other's merits, and balanced development of the Korea sporting world. But, women sports-persons agreed much more that other man sports-persons. There is some gender difference in the priority of the necessity of leader education such as necessity of leadership, extension of education opportunity, and no new development & information.
