학교밖청소년에 관한 질적연구 동향분석 = Analysis of Qualitative Research Trends on Out-of-School Youth

The purpose of this study is to identify trends in qualitative research on out-of-school youth and to seek future research directions. A total of 90 papers were selected and analyzed based on the research status, research method, research subjects, research contents, and rigor of the study. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, papers have been consistently published since 2010, and have increased since 2015. The number of papers by journal was 50 in total, showing that research was conducted in a wide variety of fields. Among the six academic journal fields, the social science field had the most with 61 papers(67.8%). Second, the results of the research method analysis showed that the phenomenological research method(23.3%) that applied in-depth interviews(68.9%) accounted for the largest portion of all studies. Third, the results of the research subject analysis showed that 61 studies(67.8%) directly targeted only out-of-school youth, and 41 studies(45.6%) targeted 4-8 people. Fourth, the majority of the research contents were related to various program participation experiences targeting out-of-school youth(15 studies) and career paths and work(13 studies). Fifth, in terms of research rigor, expert advice or peer review was the most common at 53 studies(58.9%). Based on the analysis results, future research directions and tasks were discussed.
