      This is an attempt to interpret the cultural meanings that lie in the landscape of apartment complex spread in all the Korean cities since the 1960s．My interpretation of the cultural meanings is based on my experience of Japanese study．It is unusual that about 53% of all the Koreans reside in the apartment．The apartment complex have played a critical role in standardizing the Korean residential culture．Koreans have learned the thought of economism in the process of industrialization and urbanization．The thought of economism have had a huge impact on the evaluation of the apartment．Koreans make much account of the economic value of the apartment and move from one apartment to another to live in the apartment which is economically more valuable In this sense, Koreans have nomadic culture in the city．
