All the writers of Pyeong-Sijo accepted the reality of the society where they belonged. Therefore, in their works they revealed a static world of art.
But in some of the Saseol-sijo works, the writers criticized the reality of the society where they couldn't rise: the society, they thought, had too many defects to be got rid of or to be modified.
Such critical bearings shown in some of the Saseol-sijo works were that, first, the writers wouldn't accept and obey the established order of that day when they lived, and second, they not only criticized the society but showed their positive attitude in improving the social conditions, regarding it as their responsibility. Therefore, the writers of Saseol-sijo showed a dynamic world of art in their works.
One of the reasons why Saseol-sijo become different from Pyeong-sijo is that while the writers of Pyeong-sijo stood for Jujahag(朱子學), some of the Saseol-sijo writers upheld Silhag(實學).
